NEW EXTENSION LINE KIT WITH WATER WEIGHT BAG INTRODUCED BY BIOACCESS BROADENS PRODUCT LINE AND TRACTION PIN KITS.
BioAccess introduced the Extension Line Kit with Water Weight Bag at the Orthopedic Trauma Association (OTA) annual meeting of 2007 in Boston MA
The Extension Line Kit with Water Weight Bag will complement the Traction Pin Kits and the Disposable Traction Bow distributed by BioAccess.
The Extension Line Kit is used with the Disposable Traction Bow and alleviates the need for the orthopedic surgeon to obtain various equipment, often from various departments during a skeletal traction procedure conducted in a trauma room or emergency department. One problem the orthopedic physician encounters is the lack of a traction bed in the emergency room. The Extension Line Kit with Water Weight Bag allows the physician to administer temporary traction immediately. In some situations, the patient is transferred from one trauma center or emergency room to another hospital. When this is done using conventional expensive hospital equipment, the equipment leaves the institution and is never returned. The cost effective Disposable Traction Bow and Extension Line and Water Weight Bag are a significant advantage in these cases.
The Traction Pin Kit usage continues to grow. The Traction Pin Kits are effective tools for the orthopedic surgeons and trauma centers. The introduction of additional traction equipment in the Traction Pin Kits will enhance its acceptance for temporary skeletal traction in Level I and Level II trauma centers.
The Traction Pin Kits contains the BioAccess technology platform Small Bone Tool which is an attractive disposable surgical drill (or surgical handpiece), in combination with various components needed for temporary traction pin placement. Prior to the introduction of the Small Bone Tool and Traction Pin Kits, physicians were required to loan and transport the surgical drills or manual drills from other departments. Additionally, the manual drills are not clinically acceptable to orthopedic physicians. The Small Bone Tool is a cost effective and convenient surgical drill for use both inside the operating room and in a trauma room or emergency room.

BIOACCESS INTRODUCES NEW DISPOSABLE TRACTION BOW TO ENHANCE ITS TRACTION PIN KITS AND MEET THE NEEDS OF ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS.
BioAccess has introduced it novel Disposable Traction Bow (DTB). The new traction equipment will aid orthopedic physicians using the Traction Pin Kits (TPK) distributed by BioAccess.
The Disposable Traction Bow (DTB) allows BioAccess to supply a needed and novel component to the orthopedic surgeon for temporary skeletal traction done in trauma centers. The product will enhance the Traction Pin Kits, allowing the physician to have all items needed for temporary traction pinning in the Kit. Previously, physicians were required to loan this piece of traction equipment from other areas of the hospital and the access and quality of the components presented delays and problems for the physicians.
The design of the Disposable Traction Bow is superior to older traction bows (Steinmann pin bow or Bohler bow). The Disposable Traction Bow is flexible allowing easy application to the traction pin and fits all sizes.
The Traction Pin Kit product has continued to please orthopedic surgeons and this added traction equipment component will enhance its acceptance for temporary skeletal traction in Level I and Level II trauma centers.

BIOACCESS SUCCESSFUL SUPPORT OF TRACTION PIN KIT AND PARTICIPATION AT THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS.
BioAccess recently exhibited at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), held in Chicago, March 22-26.
Orthopedic surgeons visited the centrally located BioAccess booth (10’ x 20’). This was the second consecutive year BioAccess has exhibited at the AAOS and the company looks forward to next year in San Diego CA in addition to other specialty orthopedic societies during the year.
The BioAccess Traction Pin Kit (TPK) and Small Bone Tool (SBT) were highlighted at the meeting. The Traction Pin Kit is distributed by BioAccess and contains the BioAccess platform technology, disposable power tool. The disposable surgical drill and novel design brings a powered surgical drill to orthopedic surgeons outside the traditional operating room setting and into the Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers (emergency department/trauma room). The BioAccess TPK brings convenience and cost savings to several departments within the Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers.
“BioAccess was proud of the enthusiastic reception from orthopedic surgeons at the AAOS,” stated Robert Chapolini, MD, President. “The product interest was keen for the BioAccess Traction Pin Kits along with interest in the BioAccess Small Bone Tool. Our plans are to continue an elevated support of the Traction Pin Kit for use in the trauma centers. In speaking with current users of the BioAccess Traction Pin Kit, surgeons are finding the TPK to be a significant improvement and time saver over their previous procedures. Additionally, we are continuing to support revitalized interest in the BioAccess Bone Marrow Collection System and the use of bone marrow and stem cells in a variety of orthopedic treatments such as bone grafts and non-unions.”
